I have an HP pavilion as well ive had it for a year and its fully updated, i had a slight accent recently with spilling water on the keyboard but i had the water removed professionally at a repair shop, when i first got it back the volume button wouldnt work at all but then it worked just fine after a few days. And now suddenly today the volume keeps shooting up to by itself. I tried all the steps described and it still wont fix the issue, unless i totally disable the sound.

I'm glad it is working right now. Do visit our HP Support Community and drop us a message anytime you need help.

I turned on my Lenovo computer on a few days ago and saw that the volume icon was on the top left of my screen. To see if any of the volume keys where stuck on my keyboard I pressed each key a couple of times nothing happened to the volume bar and they weren't stuckthen I went to the volume icon on the task bar and turned the volume up to the maximum and it made the notification sound but then by itself turned the down to mute from to 99, 98 etc.

The volume bar is still there and I want to get rid of it and be able to control my volume again. Is there anyway I can do so without having to reset my PC?

Imagine when adding that heavy spotify banner besides it! Downloaded the thing and it works Much thanx!! Firstly Windows Media Player is An old app. Windows is not using it anymore. I dont try to blame you. I just want to say these things to people. I am glad that an option to disable will soon be available. It is a nice feature in theory but it is far too large and stays in th screen for far too long. Be glad to see the back of it There is a way to change the length of time the banner stays on the screen in Windows 10 and other versions I think :.

So here's what we're going to do. The next update you'll get 1. We're also passing on this feedback to Microsoft in the hope that they can give you, the customer, more control of how this feature is displayed.

Stay tuned on that. This particular update doesn't bother me at all; I rarely change the volume when I'm using the program, and when I do it only lasts three seconds. But this is exactly the customer service I want to see at Spotify.

You put out a feature, see people are unhappy about it, then fix it. Kudos to you for that. Nice work. IMO, features released as soon as possible is better than delaying the release to customize the feature, as long as the ability to customize comes soon after. Follow me.It comes with Windows 8. It was resolved once when I tried pull off and push back the usb for the logitech wireless mouse. Go to Solution. Thank you! Had the exact same issue today. Here is a pic of the cable and screw in question. View solution in original post. Are you still having this problem? Did you manage to resolve it? I'm having the exact same issue. What I did was mute the volume and left it mute, so that the volume box disappeared from my screen.

Obviously, I can work without that annoying box hung up on the screen, but can't use any multimedia at all I also installed the driver for my logitech optical mouse even though it's been working fine without the driver installation because I have the feeling that the usb mouse connection is somewhat the cause.

After a few weeks, I just tried to unmute it. It is working. The box is gone now. But, I'm not sure if the problem will happen again I had the same issue. It wasn't software related. I noticed that when I took the bottom cover off, the issue went away. I could also press down in that area and cause the volume to stick in the down position.

I just left that screw out.

volume bar stuck on the top left of screen

I hope this helps someone. Thanks very much. I reported the same issue to Dell this evening and they were adamant that it was not hardware related! I had a faulty keyboard replaced about 2 weeks ago - which I reminded them about. I loosened the screw at the bottom of my laptop near the right hand speaker as you suggested and the on screen volume display disappeared and I can now turn the volume up and down again!

The only problem is that the volume rocker at the RHS of my laptop is not working properly anymore. When I press the up part of the rocker button the volume goes down and vice versa. After praising Dell for a rapid response to replacing my faulty laptop's keyboard 2 weeks ago I am now left with a nasty taste in my mouth. I will contact them again and tell them my findings.

HOW TO: fix the raw imput problem with tablet on -osu!

I now remember that the technician who replaced my faulty keyboard commented that the volume rocker button is problematic after replacing the keyboard. Many thanks for this fix, you can see in the copper cable where the cover had trapped the cable with the. I rerun the cable to avoid this happening again. So im on windows 10 all is well except whenever i hit the Volume up and down button on my keyboard it appears on the left corner and i simply can't move it can i disable it from showing completely or move it by any chance?

After upgrade from windows 7 everything works properly. Right click works ok. What is the reason to that? I left-click on the windows icon, but nothing happens. Right-click, though, gives a pop-up list. How to restore the left-click behaviour? I've just noticed a feature which I don't think was present on Windows 7, but is on Windows When a pop-up window is opened by an application the window is not aligned with the top left corner of the screen, it is slightly padded to the right.

Windows 10 drivers for dell

This seems to affect both pop-ups from browsers and from other applications i. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I have written a program that interacts with an application that creates these kinds of pop-ups and my program is expecting the windows to be about 7 pixels to the left of where they are appearing This can be tested by turning off your ad blocker and going to URL I am having troubles with my mouse.

I am currently on Windows 10 and have just encountered a problem. It started when I closed down a tab and the mouse flashed to the top left corner of my screen, now as soon as I move the mouse it instantly moves it back. Something weird is sometimes when I open up a different tab for example a game, the mouse does the exact same thing but in the middle of the screen.

I'm using Groove Music and every time I skip a song, there is a little box that shows up in the top left corner that shows the next song that I skip to. This is all fine and dandy, but when I play WoW it shows up over my game which makes impossible to heal when it covers up my raid ui! It does see the mouse over and responds to right button clicks. Also when trying to pin an icon to the taskbar, it does not respond to a right click. The logged in user is an administrator. I have re-booted several times.

Is there something an amateur can do? I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and I have a 2 monitor setup. If I'm on the left monitor, and I go to drag a window to the right monitor, it will hang in the top right corner of the left monitor and not move, until I move the cursor down slightly, then it'll let me move it.

Is there a way to remove that stopgap so I can move windows freely from one monitor to the other without having to go around the top corner? I enabled tray balloon on my Windows 10 but it is showing up on the top left corner of the screen. How do I fix that? Now my cursor keeps jumping to the upper left corner of my screen. I have tried using different USB mice and a different browser, but the problem exists all the time.
